Lower Hay Lake Public Boat Access
The Lower Hay Lake Public Access will be rebuilt this summer. Beginning as soon as May 12, 2025, the DNR will close the Public Access and start construction that will significantly enhance the current access. This will include removing the old boat ramps and widening the concrete ramps so ingress and egress will be more efficient. The old gravel road and parking area will be regraded and paved. The parking lot will be expanded to include new parking spaces, presumably to address the overflow issue of vehicles parking on the road on busy weekends. While the start date is still in flux, the project will not begin until after the fishing opener weekend. The Public Access will be closed the entire summer, with the anticipated date of substantial completion of August 30, 2025. Click on the link below to see the new plan for the Public Access.
